So now that I've tossed this idea in your head about whether or not
you are really living or if you are just going through the motions let
me explain myself. In today's day and age it seems like you have people
going a million miles an hour go to and from hitting the road and just
going places they wake up to a set alarm that always goes off to certain
toon and even an exact time and if they wake up any later its like
their whole day has been thrown off. We see people take out long
calendars and spends hours if not days planning out how they are going
to spend every weekend when they can sit down and do there home work or
when they are going to walk the dog. How can you live like this how can
you have a structured life that a piece of paper or a books tells you
what to do or when to do. Let me show you a couple of things that you
are going to miss living a life where nothing matters but making it on
time.
First off do any of you have a planner that sits beside you
bed or go with you every where you go? How full is it? Do you have
certain times for work? School? Church? Now look at it again if you go
that deep have you even put in a certain time that is marked off as "Fun Time"
if you were like me than yes you planned everything out but when it
came down to it you never had enough time to do the things you really
enjoyed or you never had enough homework time or travel time or really
enough time at all. It wasn't until I sat down and really got to
thinking about who I was that I scratch this idea of I have to be here
or I will miss this or If i dont make it here who will ever forgive me.
Good news guys, and gals, you can fix it you can start from scratch, It
can be broken down to three easy ways of living.
How to start,
and yes we are going to take baby steps for you. You need to take that
planner that you have with you and toss it out. I can see the look on
your face now your eyes are glazed over and possiably both of your
eyebrows have become a little bit closer and you may even be doing a
double take on that sentence, but Im serious. You are living for the
next thing you have all these fixed plans that control your life and you
have to let go of them. Plans and goals yes they are good to have but
are they really your plans and your own goals or are they just something
to work toward. When you are living for the next thing you are like a
horse in the kentucky derby and a dark set of blinders on not even
realizing what to the left and to the right of you. Open your eyes guys
be ready for the oppurtunities life is going to slap you square across
the face with. The first few days are going to be rough you are going to
think that Im giving up sanity and I have no boundaries but think about
the times that you threw a tempur tantrum when something got in the way
of your future plans let go of it let this life take you where it
wants.
Now the next step in living a life that is on the fly
is letting go of your obligations or your desires to arrive at the next
higher up goal. I want to ask you a question how many of you are just
going to work and putting in the long hours and trying so much harder
because that is what is expected of you to get a promotion. Are you
really enjoying the life you have? Or are you just going through the
motion hoping and wishing you arrive at that promotion. Why? I've never
quite understood why you kill yourself and stress over things like
trying to make it through college, and most of the time you could care
less if your really there or not. It just this goal everyone has put in
front of you and you are bound and determined to make it there, and
you're so chained to that idea that sometimes you forget the keys are in
your back pocket and you could walk away anytime. This life is going to
chuck you into race whether you like it or not are you going to be
scared that you're not ready or are you going to embrass it because this
is where you are at.
